Load page text into sidebar

Disclaimer: I tried searching but the search functionality no matter what I search for is returning no results…even the word “theme” so something is going wrong, so sorry if this is asked elsewhere.

I’m setting up a site using wordpress as a cms. I have some text content in sidebar.php but I’d like to move that to a page and load the page (just the text) into sidebar.php. Can someone help get me started? I can code but I’m not familiar with WordPress…
