Load New Posts Inline with Page Using Ajax

Hi there. I am currently designing a new WordPress theme and would like it so that new posts are loaded inline with the page (ie using ajax), so the user does not have to reload page.
The P2 theme does this, but there is so much going on I cannot see how.
