    I am using the LJ autoupdate and it has been working fine until one day when I decided to write a blog entry in Chinese. WP has no problem with it (now) but the version that got sent to LJ was mangled. I can’t even delete it from LJ because the encoding screws up LJ’s software (and Semagic’s too).
    I notice that in the my-hacks.php, the LJ Autoupdate hack includes the line:
    "event" => utf8_encode( $event ),
    …which I think should code it right. Anybody know what I could try here?

    correction, if i activate LJ’s “auto-convert older entries from…” function, I do get the ability to delete those posts… but still they appear as garbage. I tried several different encoding options but they didn’t un-garbage the garbage. The entry is mangled before it gets to LJ.
