LiveWriter/XMLRPC and multi-site

  • Does the XMLRPC functionality work in a multi-site environment? I’m having a lot of trouble getting it to function properly, specifically with MS LiveWriter Wave 4 Beta.

    I get the message that I “signed in successfully with a blog account, but you do not have a blog with this service provider. $#xA; Check with the blog service provider and then try again.”

    I put https://blog.tld/blog1/ as the blog address to use, and selected WordPress 2.2+ as the API to use when prompted. I’ve tried multiple different combinations including using the MoveableType and MetaWeb APIs with no success.

    I have some very non-technical users who love using LiveWriter, and I’m testing a move away from b2evolution to meet some of their ease of use needs. LiveWriter compatibility is a deal breaker for WP, though.

    Any troubleshooting or configuration advice is well appreciated.

    Well the iPhone app works now, so I had assumed this was fixed too.

    Yeah – I thought that too but I’m still having issues.

    I am having issues too with the WordPress iPhone App with a multisite.

    The funny thing is that the iPhone App Blogpress works … just not the WordPress one.

    I’m guessing this was never fixed as I’m getting this error today. I was hoping to use Windows Live Writer with our WordPress Multisite install, but I too am getting the error:

    I tried BlogDesk as suggested above, but it does not appear to have any kind of support for Pages, which is a must for our sites. We have disabled the WYSIWYG editor in wordpress, and I was hoping we could deploy WLW as an alternative for those who do not know html. This is a total bummer ??

    Actually it works fine now, and has as of 3.1 – I use the WP iOS App all the time.

    Windows Live Writer may not work, but the WordPress side has been fixed.

    However it’s been 5 months. A new topic would be a better idea ??

    Yeah, the iOS app is working well for me too. I also just found out that Windows Live Writer is working fine on our staging server, but not on our production server – so it must be something in a plugin or the theme causing the problem with Windows Live Writer, strange that it works fine on iOS though…
