• Hi,

I recently discovered the ability to view wordpress themes within dreamweaver, which is a really nice feature. However it doesn’t let you view templates. Even if you’re running a local installation of wordpress you still need to save the template, create a new page or post using the template and then view that page to see your changes in effect. Are there any programs out there, windows or mac, that make this a more streamlined process, similar to viewing themes in dreamweaver using liveview?

Sorry for the bump, didn’t realise it wasn’t allowed.

I was thinking about this issue some more and I guess the main problem with it is when I’m making lots of small changes to a template file or a CSS file that affects a template I have to go through the following process:

    1. make the change
    2. save the file(s)
    3. upload the changed files to the correct location via ftp
    4. approve overwriting the file(s)
    5. refresh the live page to see the changes

Is there a quicker way to do this, either in a local or remote environment? The 5 steps may not sound like much but when you’re making lots of little changes it is quite slow, particularly while you’re waiting for the file to upload via ftp. Does anyone have any suggestions for making this process faster?

    Thanks.
