Livejournal Import – Individual entries?
-
Okay so I was reading the FAQs, and I found this section here:
LiveJournal
To start the LiveJournal importer, go to Tools → Import → LiveJournal (Version 2.7 and later. Older version requires exporting entries, so it’s better to use the newer importer).
Also see the Google Blog Converters section below.
If you can’t use the current API-based importer for some reason, you need to:
1. Grab an older importer file (download it from the link at the bottom of this page).
2. Save the file as livejournal.php and replace the one in /wp-admin/import/.
3. Go to Manage → Import → LiveJournal.
4. Export LiveJournal contents in XML format. Use their export tool, following the LiveJournal instructions here.* LiveJournal XML Export Script – tool to export all LJ entries to one XML file for a range of years.
Specifically I’m looking into importing an individual entry or two from LJ into my WP, which as far as I can tell, the new built-in Livejournal Importer doesn’t do. (It just imports the whole enchilada.) So I thought to follow the manual directions. The problem is… /wp-admin/import/ directory doesn’t exist! I’m using WordPress 3.1.2, and while it does have an import.php there, it does not actually have the import coding in there.
So my inquiry is, where is the actual livejournal.php import page located on the most recent WP so that I can just jiffy-rig in a couple entries versus trying to import my entire journal…?
Thank you for any help you can provide!!
