    Hi there!

I am having an issue with a live stream embed (from another YouTube channel) on my website. It does not update automatically.

Using your wizard, here’s what I do:

    – Choose the “Embed a live stream option”.

    – Paste in the direct URL of the following live stream (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OMjRsb6_ok), and then click Submit.

While it initially works (as the stream is live), the issue occurs once the stream goes offline, and then back up at a later period (in this case the show broadcast is twice a day).

Practically speaking, each time a new show broadcast occurs, a new url for the live stream is created. So the original live stream url (in our example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OMjRsb6_ok) is no longer valid (it becomes a recorded version of the previous broadcast). And your system does not seem to pick up the new ones so it can auto update.

Am I doing something wrong, or is your system not able to process such requests?

Thanks in advance for your help! ??

    Michael

Once you give the plugin a url to a livestream, the plugin will stick with that url.
We’ll be returning a former feature that automatically finds a livestream given a channel. It requires a significant number of YouTube API requests and had been deprecated, but given the number of requests from users like you, we plan to bring that feature back in a future version.

This is an important feature we are also missing now. We hope it comes back very soon as it has had a severe negative impact on our sites functionality. Can I please ask when the feature will be reintroduced? Thanks.

Thank you so much for your feedback. Yes, that would be fabulous. ??

And indeed, as @elr3000 asked it would also be great to know when you plan to bring that feature back.

Keep up the fab work, cheers.

    Hello,

Same problem here Live Stream Embed does not auto update.

Can you please fix that ASAP because without this function i lost many visitors on my website.

    Thanks a lot ??

Pivoting to a different plugin, but would gladly buy the premium for this solution. Please let me know if this feature gets re-introduced.

    Thank you.

Although we upgraded to the premium version for the other awesome benefits, we now desperately need this feature back as a significant volume of our traffic is now for live streams and having to update every stream is not sustainable.

If anyone knows of an alternative temp solution I would be extremely grateful if you would be kind enough to let us know.

I’m curious to why the plugin still has the option to embed live streams if it no longer works.

As mentioned earlier, the feature will return — likely in the next update. Customization features also apply to livestreams by the way.

Im looking for a plugin to support this feature!
Please let us know when it’s available.
    Thanks

Can I please ask if this is likely to be fixed this year? Many thanks.

That’s very likely. We’ve just been very vigilant about closing out a number of bug fixes before the end of the year as well.
