Live Server to Local

Im taking the site from Live to Local on a mac this time, using Mamp, ive copied the entire site from the live server via ftp and dropped the whole lot in htdocs folder locally, the local mamp php admin has found the site immediately.

the promlem im having

:- I can not find where to open the local wordpress admin side as it keeps loading the live site.

:- do i need to update domains also? if so where and how.
