Live Press 1.5.1.3 Moldy Banana Release
-
I have finally updated Live Press for WordPress 1.5.1.3. This is more than an update, it includes nifty new features. This is a beta, but it should do the trick ??

An error_log has popped up in the LivePress folder, which says:
[10-Aug-2005 09:06:33] PHP Warning: main(ABSPATH/wp-config.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/yourwin/public_html/wp-content/plugins/Live Press 1.5.1.3/LivePress/lpeditjournal.php on line 105
[10-Aug-2005 09:06:33] PHP Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required ‘ABSPATH/wp-config.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/yourwin/public_html/wp-content/plugins/Live Press 1.5.1.3/LivePress/lpeditjournal.php on line 105Is that what you were after? I was looking in there with ftp and saw it, thought it might help. Thanks for working so hard on this plugin – it’s a great idea, and exactly what I was after.
i’m getting this error after activating the plugin and then going to the Options > LivePress page:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare unt_livepress_admin() (previously declared in E:\xxx\wp-content\plugins\LivePress\lpadmin.php:13) in E:\xxx\wp-content\plugins\LivePress\lpadmin.php on line 17
i’m stumped. i’m testing this locally before i upload everything to my server. oh and i’m using that 5th Ammendment Release one.
I have no idea what is causing that.
Is anyone else having that problem?
I uploaded a new zip file to hopefully fix the javascript/journal adding problems.
IT WORKS!!!! Oh my god, at this point I could just kiss you… lol. You have no idea how many versions and different times I’ve uploaded/downloaded/installed/reinstalled this plugin and it FINALLY works.
I am seriously so grateful right now I could shed a tiny tear. Patience pays off, thank you!
hmmm… looks like i’m the only one getting that problem. will try to do a fresh install of wordpress then livepress and tell you what happens.
got it to work on my end… on my server though and not locally. maybe it has to do something with windows paths. *shrugs* but yeah, it’s working already! thanks unteins!
My “Add Journal” link still goes to wp-admin.php. I can’t think of any idea why?
I was wrong about the extra folder…works great now! Sorry for the trouble ??
@unteins: First of all Thank You! for a great plugin but I would like to make a small request for a future release: Now one has to have a LJ account to not run into trouble with livepress. I think it would be a good idea if people could choose the functionality they require – e.g. to just add the mood and music functionality to their WP without being required to have a LJ account. I for my part would like to close my LJ down and just have my WP running but at the moment livepress requires me to keep it.
Would be great, if you could make that change possible.
i don’t know if this is a bug or not, but for the bookmarklet, the user pic and journal to post to aren’t fetched from my account. i mean, i only have a blank drop down list for the two options. but when i checked my post page, everything works fine.
I’m possessed of a sneaking suspicion that the continual array errors that have plagued this plugin for the very beginning are, in fact, a LIVEJOURNAL issue. Meaning that somehow the data LivePress is getting back is not in the right format, or that there isn’t any data at all. It seems to be extremely random; LivePress will work superbly for months, and then just randomly, with no change at all in the WP install or anything, start throwing the array errors. And nothing suffices to get rid of them at all, except sometimes replacing the class-IXR.php file in wp-includes, which doesn’t always work and nobody can agree on whose copy of the file should be in there to make it work at all. I notice the 5th amendment release has no class-IXR.php file in it, so I replaced my file with the WP 5.1.3.1 file, and there was no change.
This would be a perfect plugin if it weren’t for that one problem which no one can solve.
The problem is related to the class-IXR.php file. People have been successful using the LivePress 1.2 version of the file. I don’t know enough about XMLRPC to know if the problem is LiveJournal or the XMLRPC class.
What I will do is post a question to a development list and see if someone can tell me where the problem is and what, if anything, can be done to fix it.
In the meantime, you can try to use the class-IXR from LivePress 1.2 which someone has used to make the newest version work.
See, the thing that makes me think it’s something with Livejournal is the simple fact that my install, which I have not upgraded to your release or altered at all in the last four months, started throwing those errors a week ago. After working perfectly and errorlessly for four months.
I repeat, I did not change any files at all in my WP install.Did you join any communities or add a bunch of user icons?
No and no. More correctly, not at any point near the time when it broke. I ran a general cleanup on my LJ about two weeks previously, posted several entries between that time and the time it broke, and even though I get the array errors, those don’t seem to affect the crossposting itself, just the options available.
And, oddly enough, I uploaded the class-IXR.php from LP 1.2, which I am certain is the one I had before when it broke, and it fixed. So it’s like the file has to be refreshed every so often or something bizarre like that — I never let WP’s file overwrite that one unless I’m having issues with it.
