First time using TT4 Theme & somehow – made Home Page using Pattern or Page – but when viewing live Home Page, sections from the Theme repeat after Subscribe section, but before footer section.
I can’t remove repeating sections – did I insert the template in the first content section or something?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @elaine_simmons!

Thanks for reaching out! From the top header until the Watch, Read, Listen section – these came from a main group of blocks. While the duplicate contents from the second half of the site are from another group of blocks entirely. In the dashboard, when you go to the Site Editor in Appearance > Editor, click the List View ≡ on the upper left to see the list of the blocks used on the front page. When you click a block from the List View, it will highlight on the right side the equivalent content on the page. Then remove the other blocks that cause duplicate contents and Save.

    Hello Kel

I have tried finding these extra Groups on List view so I can delete, but they are not there.
Here is what I see in List view:
    (2) Hero section rows I created
    -A passion asterisk Group
    -An array of resources Group
    -Testimonial
-Watch, Read, Listen + footer Group
    -Join 900 subscribers Group
    End of List View
    then
on Live view here is what I see:
    (2) Hero section rows I created
    -A passion asterisk Group
    -An array of resources Group
    -Testimonial
-Watch, Read, Listen (no footer or join 900 subscribers here)
    -A passion asterisk Group AGAIN
-An array of resources Group AGAIN
    -Testimonial AGAIN
    -Watch, Read, Listen AGAIN
    – Join 900 subscribers (for first time).
    -Footer appears (for first time).
    End of Live view

So what I am saying is the Groups repeating on Live view are NOT shown in List view,
so I cannot select & delete them. I looked through the support feed & did not see any similar issue as this.
Maybe I just save the header+Nav I have going and the (2) Hero section rows I created as template parts and start over?
    Please advise & thanks!

    Hi @elaine_simmons!

Thanks for sharing that. Duplicate content happens which can be caused by different factors.

Yes, you can do that. You can also create a new template and add the parts, and use that new template on the site editor front page. After that, use another browser or clear your browser cache first then check your site front page to see if the sections are no longer repeating.

    Thanks Kel
Yes, I will try that. I straightened out everything in the template I was using – however I was using the Pages template, and that is fine for the front page, but not all the other pages. So I need to transfer those Pages template blocks to the Front Page template – I am confused what to name the new template that I intend to use for the Front Page though – the documentation says I can’t name it “Front Page”, or the name “Front Page” will not show up in list of templates? Could you please explain.

I’m glad to hear that, thanks for sharing! ??

You can copy the blocks from the Pages template to the “Front Page” template (the template you’re using for the front page or landing page of your site).

If you’re using the “Front Page” template, it will appear in Appearance > Editor > Templates.

From the documentation, “If you already added a template from the Template Editor (for eg: Front Page), it will not display that template name (in this case, Front Page) in the drop-down menu, when you try to add a new template.”
When you create a new template, there will be premade templates to choose from like the Front Page template, Pages template, Author Archives template, and more.
If you’ve already selected “Front Page” template, when you create a new template, “Front Page” won’t be available on the list of premade templates.

Although templates can be renamed, it’s not necessary. You can continue using the “Front Page” template for your front or home page.

Thanks Kei for that information. I’ve pretty much got it from here, Front Page template is now set up, and Pages template is also kind of set up. So good to go here! Marking this as solved and thanks!

Wonderful, I’m happy to help! Have a great day ahead!
