    Hi,

I have taken a look at the upload folder in WordPress and I see some WebP images, but there are many .jpg and ,png images that do not have a match for WebP.

We also have another site with the same issue. That site is running on a LiteSpeed Server. The report number for that site is EEVXASTG

We are also using this tool to see if WebP is being served:

Hi @lechon, there’re around 100 images cannot be optimized, could you try to Clean Up Unfinished Data and re-run the optimization.

    Hello,

Clean Up Unfinished Data and re-run the optimization has been done several times.
    Message shown “Congratulations, all done!”
    No images left to optimized.
This is just in one site.

On the other site where we have a LiteSpeed server is a nightmare (report number ZYXWPHXS). We are past level 5 and and days upon days of optimizing and Clean Up Unfinished Data we have barely 18%.

On Both sites we see on the files that there are WebP images but even then, none of the images are being served

We are so frustrated with this we are ready to throw the towel, all it has done so far for us is enlarge the database with images that are not being served.

    Hi,

For your other site , ZYXWPHXS , it has CF cache enabled , that will mess with md5sum
check as CF cache alters the md5sum and make LSCWP unable to proceed.

Please disable CF cache during the optimization process.

On the site you mentioned in first post , could you please go to media page , and see if webp icon there is bright up or it shows little bit of dim ?

if it’s dim , please try click on “reset” button , then go to image optimization page and optimize that image , and see if webp is generated.

    Best regards,

Where you said “Please disable CF cache during the optimization process.”

You mean Turn off “Cloudflare API” under “CDN” on LS Cache plugin?

If you referring to disable CF cache at the actual Cloudflare portal during the optimization process, this would leave us with no cache whatsoever for days, the optimization you are providing takes days to execute from what we can tell, it even works like a video game, you have to achieve “level 5” to get some decent amount of images moving.

On the media page for the first site there is no icon of any color or icon for that matter regarding webp.

    Hi,

No , I mean disable cloudflare cache on image files , if you check the images, you will see header like

    cf-cache: hit

this is the cause that altered md5sum , something like this

I understand this is a bad move to disable CF cache in order to optimize image.

Our developers have already add this into to-do list for v3.0 which will no longer need to disable CF cache , but unfortunately for the moment this is the only way.

In your media page, you should see something like this

    View post on imgur.com

the first image does not have any webp icon at all because it was optimized with webp off

the second image has webp icon light up which means webp file is there.

    Hello,

Because the sites are basically 99.9 percent all images (portfolio style) disabling Cloudflare image cache in order to let this plugin optimized images is definitely a bad idea and it would not work for us. Even a temporary disable will hurt us, because it takes days upon days for LS Cache to optimize a full site. I guess we are just going have to wait to version v3.0 of this plugin.

Below are the icon images that we are seeing on both servers, We see that some of them with WebP and some other not.

    Server 1 (report Number ZMNZGKHS)

    Server 2 (report number OKVXOUYT)

    Regards,

Hi @lechon, the dimmed image means it cannot be compressed for more efficient. So it will not show the WEBP version of the images.

    Hi @qtwrk,

We are already in V3, has this problem with the CF cache been solved?

    Cheers!
