Listing ALL recent posts on sidebar but less on home page

I am trying to do a setting where all of my recent posts are on my sidebar but only 2 are visible on the home page. So far I have 5 posts, and I only want two of them to show on the main page (a sticky welcome i have up and the latest posting). I want the rest of the old postings to show up on “Recent Posts”.

When I go into the administration page, I put in that I want at most 2 posts to be shown, but then it only shows those 2 posts on my “Recent Posts” listing on the sidebar.

Any idea how to change this?
