list posts by pageviews

I am trying to do something that should be relatively simple, but cannot figure how. I would like category and tag pages to list posts in order of page views over some time-frame, say the last month. I can re-order posts using WP_Query orderby, but no option is provided to sort by pageviews. I am using the plug-in WordPress Popular Posts, so my database is holding the necessary data, but how to use it for sorting, eg as custom field / meta_value?
