    I’d like to display popular posts in the selected language only. Now it lists popular posts in other languages also. Tried to find any documentation on this subject, but cannot find it.

    Any suggestions?

    In more detail:
    – I’ve a website with two languages
    – I’m using the WPML plugin for managing and displaying the language versions
    – I’m using a Popular Posts widget in the sidebar of the website
    – Currently, the widget displays popular posts of both languages
    – What I like to display: only display popular posts of the language selected

    Thx!

    Hi there,

    I’d like to display popular posts in the selected language only. Now it lists popular posts in other languages also.

    That’s intended. If a post hasn’t been translated, WPP will display the original one instead.

    Someone proposed (can’t find the link ATM) that WPP should provide an option/setting to allow the user change the current behavior (assign views count to the “original” article) to have WPP store separate views count per post/page per language. It’s something I’ve been meaning to play around with but it’s been pushed back many times for different reasons (work, freelance, plugin code refactoring, life, etc.) Right now, my goal is to release a fully stable version of WPP 4.0 first (even this has been delayed/postponed a few times) and then I’ll resume working on new features / improvements.

    TLDR;

    For the time being, there’s nothing much you can do about it. That’s how WPP supports WPML and other multilingual plugins at the moment.
