List of Important Chmods?

  • I did the WP installation for the first time and it appeared to work fine. Also the blog is up and running and looks pretty much fine.
    But I’ve noticed one problem off the bat. I went to add some categories and they appear in the admin screen just fine but they don’t show up on blog itself.
    I get this strange warning on the categorie admin screen that says:
    Warning/home/craft/public_html/blog/wp-admin/admin-functions.php93
    I’m thinking that maybe some files don’t have the right permissions or something?
    Anyone have a list of the files that need special permissions?
    Or maybe it’s something else entirely…

  • This does not have to do with file permissions. I beleive it is some other error. Could you please provide more details?

    On the Categories screen where it says “Category parent:” and then there’s a drop down menu that warning message appears: “Warning/home/craft/public_html/blog/wp-admin/admin-functions.php93” appears.
    This is kinda prohibiting me from setting up my blog.
    I haven’t done anything else like editing templated or anything yet.
    I’m using IE 5.2 on Mac OSX. Are there any other details that might help diagnose this?

    Oh!! I just realized that categories don’t appear on that list on the left side of the blog until you post something under that category.
    Duh. I was just setting them up in preparation and wondering why the heck they weren’t showing up.
    Also — regarding that warning. It’s interesting to note that it doesn’t show up if I use Safari, only if I’m using IE. Hopefully it’s nothing serious.
