Running WordPress 4.9.4 with Events Calendar 4.6.12 (and The Events Calendar: Filter Bar 4.5.4 if that matters) and the ‘full styles’ setting enabled.

On page load or toggling between the list and the month views, a select menu with dropdowns for list and month briefly flashes, then disappears. The toggle works but I would love to prevent this. I’ve tried copying views/modules/bar.php from the plugin into my theme folder, but when I remove the select menu (bar.php line 43) the toggle breaks. I’ve tried hiding with CSS but nothing can prevent the flash. Any suggestions?

  • Hi @michaelware1205,

Thanks for reaching out. Sorry to hear that you are experiencing problems.

I’m unable to reproduce what you are describing on any of our WordPress installs. After taking a look at the technologies that your site is running, I’m pretty confident that this is an issue with jQuery that the theme is using. Just to make sure, you can test the issue on an unmodified theme like Twenty Seventeen.

    Hope that helps!

Thanks @erishel. You were dead on. I pulled a js file out of the mix and bingo. I appreciate the help.
