List events in groups

I am trying to display events, in separate categories, on the one page.

So far I have only been able to achieve this by using multiple shortcodes on the one page. But the problem with this method is that when the user clicks on an event, the output from the other shortcodes is still visible on the page.

My expected output would be to see only the details for the event that was clicked, not others.

Is there a more elegant way to achieve this?
