linux browsers and wp contact form

I have been developing my sites offline on a pc running linux. All was well until I tried to use the wp contact form. It does not show on the page. I have checked the online demo page with the same results.

I have tried mozilla, firefox, and opera with no luck.

Is there some setting I should change?

I did download the small browser, dillo, and the contact form shows but this doesn’t do me any good with getting the web page appearance right.

Any suggestions very appreciated.
