Links/Code not effective outside of my main index

  • Hi,

    I am hoping this should be a quick question!

    I have been using WordPRess for a bit and never had this problem before and was wondering if anyone had any ideas?

    Basically I have recently added some javascript buttons to my right hand sidebar and an image in my top-bar. On the index page, the buttons render according the javasript and the image in the top strip is a link to my homepage…however what I want only happens on the main index template.

    As far as I can workout this shouldn’t happen because for one, the sidebar is called by the main index so it should appear the same across all pages?

  • Are you using relative path? If yes, that’s the problem.

    relative path for the images? yes i think so….instead of “/image1.gif” i need to make it “example.com/images/image1.gif”?

    Yes, because when you go to a single post view your image URL will be like this:
    example.com/2008/09/11/post-title-here/image1.gif – which is not working as you already learned.

    i have done that now, and the images show…but still no effect on behalf of the javascript…even though the path to that is based in the header, andy ideas?

    It is the same for JS – relative path will NOT work.
