links within posts – follow or no follow?

I’m here to find out, too. I’m a newbie, but think it’s related to the “Attempt to notify any blogs linked to from the article” and “Allow link notifications from other blogs” options in the Discussion Settings…

Hey there! Well, that’s a little different and I don’t know whether those are followed or not. The answer to my question turns out to be that they are dofollow in the post, nofollow in comments unless you change that; there are of course plugins to switch over.

You might like this, though… I found this great little firefox addon called SearchStatus, among other things it will show you what links on any page you’re reading are ‘do’ or ‘no’ follow…it highlights nofollow links in pink! It’s well worth getting, for anyone into the link building thing who’s looking for productive places to put themselves. Sadly, I’m not getting paid to say that.

And I found out about my pieces, too. It basically lets the links to my article show up in the comments, and vice versa.

You’re welcome. And I’ve done a fair bit of other-blog-pinging myself, and they definitely do appear on the other site, but I didn’t know whether they were followed or not.

There’s a Do Follow plugin so you can make comments that others leave on your site DoFollow.
