• Hi,

For new SEO rules, every time we use target=’_blank’, we should include the rel=’noopener’ attribute too. Could you pleeeease update your plugin?

I love, love this plugin, and don’t want to use other, but this is a really important rule for Core Web Vitals. =D

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @paticoelho,

Sure, I have taken your point. Looking more into this, noopener is mostly used to restrict control on the link opened so that it cannot control the opener via JS. It seems to have no impact on SEO. It is an option to add security. Modern browsers assume this by default.

It has no impact on your WordPress site’s SEO rankings or the overall WordPress performance.

I’ll do some more research and include this attribute in the next version as needed. If you see any tool complaning about “noopener” set please do let me know that tool, I would like to learn the reason stated by them.

    Thanks,

    Hey,
I consulted the marketing (SEO) team and they tell me:
“Actually, in practice, there is still no information about the impacts of this on SEO, but in addition to Screaming Frog, you can find other sources that recommend adding this security.” And that’s the reason of this recommendation from the marketers.

Thank you sooo much for your answer =D
