    I often share links to my blog on social media, but never had a problem with the link grabbing the correct thumbnail image from a blog post. All that’s currently showing up (whether I share the link on Facebook, Reddit, or wherever) is a blank, white image.

    This is an example of a link to my blog with a blank, white thumbnail.

    Any idea why it’s doing this?

    I don’t want to set a featured image (if that will even fix this problem) because it will replace the top header image for my site.

    Please provide a link to a page on your site where we can see this. Thanks.

    The problem isn’t on my page. It’s on other social media platforms where I post a link to my WordPress articles. The image that shows up with the link is blank.

    If you click the link in my initial post, you can see what I mean. The thumbnail image is completely white. This is what it looks like on Facebook. This is the direct link to the specific blog post I’m trying to share.

    I’ve been having this issue ever since WordPress was upgraded to 5.0.2. Is it an issue with placing an image within a block? It seems like these links are having difficulty grabbing an image from the page.

    Your site has an “og:image” tag with a blank image!

    <meta property="og:image" content="https://s0.wp.com/i/blank.jpg" />

    Try disabling the Jetpack image CDN.

    Oh, it was Jetpack’s fault! Thanks so much!!
