Hi, great plugin. I noticed that the internal links inside de AMP pages are pointing to the canonical page, not the AMP version of the post that i am linking to. Is there a way to make internal links inside the AMP version redirect the visitor to another AMP post instead of the regular mobile non-AMP page?

    Regards,
    Pedro.

The AMP page’s canonical is supposed to point to the main article page. You should not change it because canonical allows Google to understand the relationship between the pages with same content.

As far as internal amp version redirect thing is concern, you shouldn’t be worrying about that because Google decides when to display AMP version to user depending upon their device and network. We shouldn’t force it to everyone.

Hi, Ahmed, thanks for the quick response. Maybe I was not clear enough, english is not my first language, as you might have already noticed. I was not talking about SEO issues, I was worried about the user experience. If Google decides to show my AMP version (that is indeed much faster than my regular mobile version and has much better Adsense performance), I think it would make sense that the internal links presented through my article were also from the AMP version (instead of the regular mobile version as it is now), so the user could continue his navigation through my site the same way he started (i.e in a AMP version) and the same way Google thought it would be better. Don’t you think it makes sense or am I missing something?
Thanks. One more time, great plugin, I love it.

Sure, English is not my first language as well, so I can understand.

Let’s say a user is already on the AMP page and they click on a link, then I think Google can display the AMP version if that page has the AMP version, so they can detect the meta tag and then decide themselves.

I hope it helps, on the side note, we are thinking of adding a feature if someone wants to enable that feature.

    Regards,
    Ahmed

    Hi Ahmed,
a feature like this would be awesome! I’d like to make sure that all visitors of my AMP version stay within the AMP pages.
    Cheers,
    Hans
