Links Setting

    Hello,

    I have the issue that links I’m getting from Impact.com for my affiliate banner ad are not opening in a new window as they should. They say it’s a setting on my end that I need to change on my website. I can see no such setting.

    The ad in question is the Mountain Bike Shootout from Competitive Cyclist.

    The target is set as “_top”, while the ads from my other affiliate site give me the option of where they open and those are “_blank”.

    Can anyone explain what is happen or in this case not happening.

    Hi @scatmanat,

    Thanks for reaching out.

    I am used to Impact ads and I recommend changing your ad code manually to fix the new tab issue. To achieve this, replace the target="_top" with target="_blank", save the ad and the ad will open in a new tab.

    Alternatively, you could save the banner locally on your website, utilize the tracking link that you can request in the tab next where you retrieve the ad code, and check the open in a new window checkbox in Advanced Ads.

    Oddly enough I tried replacing “_top” with “_blank” and it didn’t work. I tried again and it did.

    Go figure.
