When “Replace the file, use new file name and update all links” is checked, PDFs and images that are placed as media in the visual editor don’t update but are instead orphaned. This has been tested with both SiteOrigin Page Builder and Elementor page builder.

    Hi Kelly,
thanks for writing us about this issue.

Would it be possible to provide us with temporary access to a site where we can see the issue? It would be really helpful to us. Please contact me if so.

    Thanks,
    Alex

I’ve also run across this problem using the Beaver Builder Page Builder. The new file uploads fine, but the links for PDFs aren’t updated and then a 404 not found message is created for the previously linked files.

Any ideas on what’s happening here?

we are having the same problem here. if i replace a pdf with a new file name the original links are broken.

I have the same problem on all sites. Tried with different Themes and deactivated all plugin′s

We’re seeing the same issue on our site. Any updates on a resolution for this problem? Updated links don’t seem to get applied to our product pages (links are displayed in tabbed content areas using WC Tab Manager plugin) and any previous link instances are broken. I’ll have to manually update them on our live site until a resolution is available, but I can provide access to our staging site where we’ve been testing different scenarios if it is helpful.
