Links not showing in sidebar

Hi,

I have a trial WP installation here:

for some reason, the links are not appearing. The chevrons are there, but the actual links are not. If I view source, the HTML looks fine.

If anyone can advise it would be much appreciated. I’ve wasted loads of time tonight trying to figure this out.

I’ve tried this on a number of themes, and they’re all the same (i.e. wrong!)
