• I’ve had this site up since 2015, Link Library has powered it since 2016 without fail. Now I have link shortcodes that have stopped working for some reason.

    My original shortcode:

    • [link-library settings=”1″ categorylistoverride=”13″]

    This page and all the others have worked without any problems since I set the site up in 2016.

    Since it stopped working I tried to re-create it using the button in the editor. This is the code generated:
    [link-library settings=”1″ categorylistoverride=”13″ excludecategoryoverride=”1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,,10,11,12,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24,25,26,27,28,29″]

    And this is the result: No links found.

    Sorry to hear this. Which update caused this to break? Version 5.9.15.3 which was released 2 weeks ago? Did you just see that the site stopped rendering?

    Is this a site on which you tried installing the Beta of Link Library 6.0?

    A general thing to try in this type of situation is to deactivate and reactivate the plugin. Some changes might not have taken when updating to the latest version.

    The next thing to look at would then be to enable Debug Mode under the plugin’s general options. Then, you can look through the page source code and search for “select *” in the page code. Once you find the select statement(s), try running these statements under your site’s phpMyAdmin tool to see what type of database errors might arise.

    From there, I can understand what might have gone wrong.

    Will do, thanks for the quick answer. I’ll try it later today.

    Yes, it was after the beta attempt, I removed all the files from the server and uploaded the ones I knew worked. When I logged into the site it said there was an update so I updated it. I went in and removed the files again and reloaded the previous version (along with the settings and links csv files).

    You do not need the exclude override if you only want to display a category.
