Links in WP3 Navigation Menus

  • Having just started experimenting with WordPress 3.0.1 after using versions 2.x for quite some time now, I am left with mixed feelings.

    My biggest problem is with the new built-in navigation menus. What strikes me as extremely odd, is that the menus support the feature to make navigation menus for individual posts and just about every other page, but not to links!? Sure, you can make items for Custom Links, but why not simply be able to select the links that already exist in the link categories?

    This would be significantly easier, for then I wouldn’t need to duplicate all my specified links that already exist in the ‘old’ link categories.

    Is this a design choice? If so, I don’t understand it. If anyone knows a way to select existing links/categories and add them to the WP3 menus, that would be greatly appreciate it.
