I have a dropdown menu and I want to disable the hyperlink that is activated automatically when categorizing. I mean, I want to eliminate the hyperlink of the button/word that appears in the menu and that only the hyperlinks in the texts that are in the dropdown remain active.

  • Hi @julianablanc

From your message, I understand that you want to disable the hyperlink for the parent menu/button but keep the hyperlinks under it active, is that correct? This is possible, and requires a bit of customization.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how you can achieve this:

    1. Navigate to your WordPress dashboard, then go to Appearance → Menus.
    2. Find the menu item that you want to disable the hyperlink for, and click on it to expand its settings.
    3. In the URL field, you can remove the current URL of the parent menu and make it empty. This will make the button/word unclickable, but it will still trigger the dropdown when clicked. Here’s a screen video I made to show you an example:

If you want to link it to the same page, on the other hand, just enter a # symbol inside the URL.
    4. Click on “Save Menu” to apply the changes.

Please note that this method will only work if your theme supports it. If it doesn’t, or if you’re not comfortable making these changes, I would recommend reaching out to a developer.

Remember to always back up your site before making any changes, so you can restore it if something goes wrong.

If you have any other questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask. We’re here to help.

    Best Regards,
