links for video only showing html code

  • I seems to have problems hosting html links on my blog – notably
    video on youtube and files from outside sights. I tried a few plugins but they didn’t seem to help. Site is bjbangs.net (Paws for Reflection)

    This doesn’t happen with all outside links as you can see on the site.
    How can I get around the posting of Flickr photo galleries and YouTube or Vimeo videos.

    Also do you have a suggestion for the best photo gallery to use. I use photobucket, but they don’t have the slide show option yet. I’ve tried Flick and others.

    It occurs on my blog https://www.bjbangs.net.
    But I don’t have any posts to that effect because I end up not posting just code because it looks so ugly.
    If I upload to the library, I don’t have this problem. If I insert the code directly from photobucket, I don’t have the problem.
    I tried inputting an API code for Flickr. Couldn’t get it to work.
    Video links from YouTube also just post code.

    Took out all code on the post. Not even the code is showing up now. It’s just blank as if nothing is there.

    Have you tried using the shortcode [embed], so as an example ;

    [embed]utube link here[/embed]

    so try that out and tell me how it goes.

    Try deactivating your plugins and switching to the default theme – then just copy the YouTube URL for the video you want to use – you do not need to use [embed] – see the link posted above.

    What plug-in would you recommend for shortcodes for youtube, flickr, photobucket, possibly pdf files, etc?
    I came across a plugin that finally worked on the youtube, but that doesn’t solve all the issues.
    I’m not an expert coder, so plug-ins would probably work best.

    Have you had a look at Embeds?
