• I help setup WordPress for a client who was using an older version. Now she uses 3.5 but every time she wants to edit a post, all the links disappear. This had never happened to her before. I can’t explain why this happens. When I was testing it, the only way I could keep the links is if I edited in Text mode, but if I switched to Visual, they were gone. Please help.

  • Thanks for the update.

It seems that I have exactly the same issue, but also with the Left / Right / Center button.

Link tag gets outside of the paragraph tag and so, gets stripped by the auto-formatting when updating post.

I have the same issue on my website. Whenever I go to edit a page or post, some of the hyperlinks go away. It’s really irritating, as I update my site frequently and rebuilding 10-12 hyperlinks at a time is really grating!

I should note that I upgraded to the latest wordpress.

I think it is a bug on the new wordpress update. I just don’t know how to let them know so hopefully they can fix it.

For now, you can try copy/pasting your posts into Word before you edit them so you can paste the content and links back in when they disappear.

I am having the same issue on a few sites. I add the hyperlinks, the page looks fine, but when I go back to edit it…they are gone.

This is especially frustrating when I set up a page for a client and they go back to edit it and need to re-add all of the links.

I am having the same issue.

Did anyone figure out a solution? For now, I am going to do the recommended copy/paste from Word.

    Thank you!

This is a known bug and will be fixed in 3.5.1. Make sure that you never paste from Word into a webpage – that will likely create further problems.

@amandajanebrown; Please stick to your own topic. Using Word is NOT the answer.

This is a known bug and will be fixed in 3.5.1

But it’s a bug that only triggers if you:

    1. enter links in a specific manner
    2. Switch editing tabs

DON’T SWITCH EDITING TABS! Pick a tab and stick to it for the life of that Post or Page.
