Links “create” fine in posts, but stop working when I Save or Publish.

When I write a post and include an http link, it “creates” fine, with the text turning blue and an underline appearing. Then I click “Save” or “Publish” and the underline remains, but the text turns “plain” and when the post appears on the homepage, instead of a working link, I get “[…].” On the other hand, when I navigate to the “post-page,” the link does appear and does work.

I tried the .htaccess fix above and it didn’t solve the problem.
