• I add a simple link to one of my paragraph blocks on a post:[ redundant link removed ]

Then somehow when I revisit the post later, the link has been changed to:
    [ redundant link removed ]

The link works, but what’s going on? I wouldn’t approve of this being done to my links, so what’s going on?

I’ve trawled the internet for information on this but all it seems to come up with is sites which have this same issue.

I assume it’s for some tracking purpose, and I don’t like it. I have been through all the affected links (just a small, seemingly random number of links) and corrected them. After saving they appeared OK but when I left the page, and then came back to it, the links had been changed again.

Is there any way I can prevent this from happening, please?

Not sure whether it’s relevant or not, but when I put us6.list-manage.com into the address bar of Safari, it came up with this:
    https://mailchimp.com/about/mcsv-static

The link works, but what’s going on? I wouldn’t approve of this being done to my links, so what’s going on?

    This is MailChimp’s tracking feature.

All email marketing providers have this, and allow users to track the performance of campaigns (eg open rates, click-through rates, etc). And most providers also allow you to turn off link tracking.

Are you seeing this in links in emails from your site, or on your website itself?

Note that WordPress itself has no built-in integration with MailChimp, so it’s definitely down to something you’ve installed on your site.

Thank you @gappiah, it must be something MailChimp is doing. We use MailChimp (probably not for much longer) but we have no MailChimp plugins on our site, so I don’t understand how they are doing it. (It’s on the website, not on the emails – as far as I know).
I take a very dim view of this, and am currently looking at ways to stop it happening, but from what I gather so far, it cannot be stopped on emails which have already been sent.
If anyone can help with this we would be most grateful. We need to be able to send emails to our customers, and of course, it would be nice to know whether the email has been opened, but that’s all.
We’re looking for an email system which we can control, and which doesn’t hack our websites…
