• Hi. Sorry if this kind of thing has been covered before. I did a search but I’m not entirely sure what I should be looking for.

I work for a design studio and we want to setup a blog so that our clients can look at project images and possibly Quicktimes/AVIs. The clients would then be able to post comments which everyone involved in the project would be able to read.

We have some web space with our ISP and also an ftp server that sits in the studio. Usually we create password protected folders on the ftp server for each client so that they can download project files. At the moment the blog will just be for one main client to use.

What I need to know is if there is a way to have the blog on the web space which uses images that are on our ftp. I want to try and avoid having to upload all the images to our web space. We’ll also have larger files like Quicktimes. So it would be good to have a link on the blog that leads to the file on the ftp.

Plus, even though this will not be a public blog we need to keep the password protection for security.

Is anything like this possible or am I being unrealistic?

I confess I’m not an expert of the inner workings of networks or the internet but I’ve been asked if I can find try and get it sorted.
