Linking to a post in a list by ID

Hi – I’ve set my site up so that you can click on a post preview on the home page and go to a single post page (the usual). Then there is a “Back to list” button that returns the user to the home page at the same post preview they just clicked. I do this by assigning unique IDs to each post preview. You can probably tell where this is going… Using this plugin I now have the problem that the list of post previews is not generated until after scrolling and therefore the location I want to return to is not on the page when it loads. And, well, the “Back to list” link doesn’t work.

Any ideas about how to work around this?
