    Hello,

I’m still VERY much an amateur when it comes to site development. I have my main website and have created a separate subdomain for my shop with woo commerce. This was all done via site ground.

First thing I can’t see the sites together, as in they aren’t part of the same network how do I connect them? They both use the same theme and both are being hosted via site ground.

I’m also having the hardest time figuring out how to make the subdomain an option on the top menu for main domain.

I feel as if the later is probably common sense to most but I honestly I tried to google everything before I came here and didn’t not find any answers.

When replying please know that I don’t know or really understand coding after 6 years it’s still over my head, so I apologize if my response questions come across juvenile.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • If you’ve got a site on your main domain and another seperate site on a sub-domain, they are seperate sites and don’t connect. The only time that’s differnt is if you set up a Network installation, but you’d definately know if you did that. Even then each site is still considered to be it’s own stand-alone site.

How exactly do you want to connect the sites, and what do you want to end up with?

@catacaustic i legit just want the option for someone to be on the main domain and then have the sub domain in the top menu like a “page option” so if you’re on the main domain you just click the subdomain name to get to it. If that makes sense ????

    If that’s all, it’s not hard. ??

When you’re editing the menus under ‘Appearance -> Menus’, you can add in a new custom link using the ‘Custom Links’ option. You’ll jsut need to enter the subdoamin URL and the title for the link, and you can save that in with all your other menu entries.

You can add links to any website in your menus.
On you dashboard navigate to Appearance > Menus, choose your desired menu. Use the control on the left for “Custom Links”, fill in the address of your subdomain. Similarly on your subdomain add links back to the main site.

@catacaustic and @rossmitchell THANK you so much! I’ve been wracking my brain and trying to google this for a couple of days now! Again thank you so much that worked perfectly!
