• We’ve had a blog for about 10 years that we’ve created in Dreamweaver.

Its basically text -> Image -> text -> Image.

Lots of images, but not best displayed as a gallery since its more of a trip report rather then just photos.

I can copy and past the HTML code from the dreamweaver pages into the HTML page of wordpress and it creates URL links to the images from the old folders.

    QUESTION.

Is it ok to continue linking to the photos this way? Or is there an advantage of creating a gallery and inserting pictures into the post ( which takes about 4 steps) vs one step of inserting the URL from the old page.

The benefit is you can reuse the images via the media library. Its certainly not required in any way, but many people find it easier to have it all in one.

The only thing I would say is a major boon in your situation is the featured image feature only works with images in the media library.

    Thanks!

I can upload some images to the gallery if required.
