I see – got it. In case it is useful to anyone else:

I was finding that there was no option to add a URL when editing a slide, and there was no option to add a linking URL in the WP media library (not sure if that is normal or just something my theme is suppressing).

However, when *adding* an image to a slide, there is a box there to add a caption and a URL. So you you want to set or change a URL for an image slide, you need to add the image again and put in the URL while doing that. The image can be added from the media library, so it does not need to be uploaded again as a new image.

hmm, I did that, the URL is there in the Media Library… still not getting a link on the slide.

    Hello,
Just figured this out as well so here is what i did.

First go to your image in the media library and edit it. There should be some fields on the page labeled “Caption” and “Alternate text”.

I added html for a link in the Caption box like this: LinkText

Then add the LinkText to the Alternate text box for consistancy and save your image in the media library.

Next go back to the slider plugin and go back into the slider group you created to be sure the image is attached to one of your slides. You will need to re-save the slider group to apply the changes.

After that you will notice a link in the lower left side of the caption area in the slider plugin.

    Hope this helps,
    CG

one more thing – also be sure the caption option is enabled for your slides.
