linking from one table to another

    I apologize if this is a repeat, I have not been able to find an answer that works.
    I can link from a table to a page etc with out a problem. What I am doing is trying to put a link in a table on one page, and the anchor in a table on another page.
    I have tried a number of versions of <span id>, and <a=name > etc. but I am not able to get the link to drop to the anchor, it stops at the page.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
