Linking category posts to pages

    I have a theme where the page template can display posts as a grid. I like this view so much that I want to link particular category posts to a specific page. For example, if I create a page called ‘1st timers’ then I will create a category for posts that is ‘1st timers’ and want only that category to display on that page.
    Do you have suggestions how to best do that. I have no problem adding code to a .php file if you can suggest a template of code I can use.

    I found this previous www.remarpro.com post (thank you!) and see how that relates to the home page. But I want to apply the same concept to other specific pages.
