• Hi The properties on this site are being populated by an automatic xml feed from the property software 10ninety this is coming into the site and working although I would like to populate a searchable location into the “Location” field on the search page – currently the XML file should be bringing this in the xml ‘SEARCHABLE_AREAS’ node but I can’t see a way to map this when setting up the import is there a way you can link the SEARCHABLE_AREAS to the location search field

    Kind Regards

    Hi Craig,

Can you confirm which version of the Property Import add on you’re using? We added I believe to be what you’re after in version 1.0.87 so first thing would be to check you’re using that version or higher.

    Thanks,
    Steve

Hi Steve thanks for the speedy response (I believe I’m using 1.0.88)

its set up as an autofeed that keeps checking the xml (I just can’t see where the SEARCHABLE_AREAS can be mapped on import)

    Look forward to your thoughts

    Hi Craig,

You wouldn’t map them anywhere. You would create the Locations in WP under ‘Property Hive > Settings > Custom Fields > Locations’.

Then, let’s say you’ve got a location setup in Hive called ‘Manchester’ for example, when the feed runs it would search the SEARCHABLE_AREAS field from 10ninety and, if it saw a property had one set called ‘Manchester’ it would map it accordingly automatically .

Hope that helps but let me know if any questions.

    Hi Steve

I’ve created the locations in property hive but it doesn’t seem to be picking up the location from the SEARCHABLE_AREAS output by 10ninety (for instance I have created a searchable area called Watford in 10ninety and also created the location Watford in the locations custom field but this returns all properties as opposed to just the one I have set to Watford to test with

Any help would be greatly appreciated – Very happy with the plugins

    Cheers

    Craig

The fact it’s returning all properties doesn’t sound right at all.

Do you have a URL where I can view the site? If not wanting to post it publicly you can email it through to [email protected]? WP access as well would be ideal too if possible?

    Thanks,

Thanks for the details. In the XML from 10ninety there are 8 properties.

One has SEARCHABLE_AREAS as Bushey Heath, and another has it as Watford. The other 6 properties don’t have this set. What it’s doing for these 6 is looking in the address to see if any of the locations are found. So for these 6 I can see the ‘TOWN’ field in the XML is set to Watford so the location is getting set accordingly via that means.

When I search on the website for Bushey Heath I see 1 property, and for Watford I see 7, which tallies up with the data provided.

As such I can’t see an issue.

Are you able to confirm where you think the issue lies exactly?

    Thanks,

    Steve
