Linkedin include attempt made

  • Hi Danny and others,

    First a big thanks for this great plugin.
    As some others requested as well, I also was hoping linkedin sharing was included. It wasn’t (yet), so I made an attempt and added some code to make this possible. I hope it will help others as well until an official update including linkedin will be officially released.

    Here you can find my altered version of the code.

    styles-32.css

    To make the linkedin icon appear you have to adjust the sprite as well. You can use the one I made if you like.

    Please note that this is no official author approved solution but just an attempt of me, which works in my own specific configuration. Use is on your own behalf and risk.

  • Hi Bianca, i’m new to this. How would i go about installing your plugin?

    Also could you tell how to turn off the grayscale icons? I just want the icons to always be in colour , and not just on hovering over it.

    Hello Chainznanz,

    If your server (or hosting provider) lets you use and save through the plugin editor….

    Click on plugins and then click on editor in the submenu. Select dvk-social-sharing on the right top and search for these two files:

    template-functions.php
    styles-32.css

    Replace the content of these files with the code I placed on Gist (folow the link above)

    To replace the image you have to go through FTP or your hosting panel. ( cpanel, directadmin, Plesk etc)
    Hopefully you know how to do that. If not please ask assistance from you hosting provider if possible.

    If you want all the icons to appear in color use this gist instead for style-32.css

    Disclaimer:
    I strongly recommend you to make a proper back up before starting. Also take note that if you update the plugin all adjustments may be overwritten and disappear. Best of luck. Best regards, Bianca

    NOTE TO OTHERS: Do not use the alternative stylesheet if you are not using this Linkedin ‘hack’. It will mess up your icons.
