Hello, for some reason when I go to try and connect my LinkedIn account to test this plugin it does not work. After I enter my LinkedIn credentials it redirects to your website then back to mine…but I cannot select any profiles from the profile selection. It does not seem to have made any connection. I checked my LinkedIn settings and do not have any connected service.

The alert banner telling me to re-authenticate also does not work. Just redirects me to the sharing options where I do not have any connections to my LinkedIn.

    Here is the diagnostics:

    PHP Version: 7.3.27
    Wordpress Version: 5.7
    Plugin Version: 7.4
Do not share posts by default:
    Share method: simple
    Currently authenticated:
    Default share profiles:
Default share message: New Post: [POST_TITLE] - [POST_LINK]
    Sharing to post types: ,Post
    Active Plugins:
    ManageWP - Worker
    WPBruiser
    WP AutoTerms
    BackUpWordPress
    Better Font Awesome
    Classic Editor
    Contact Form 7
eRoom - Zoom Meetings & Webinar
    Essential Grid
    EWWW Image Optimizer
Google Analytics for WordPress by MonsterInsights
    Easy HTTPS (SSL) Redirection
    Injection Guard
Jquery Validation For Contact Form 7 (Lite)
    MailOptin - Lite
WP Cloud Plugin Share-one-Drive (OneDrive & SharePoint)
    White Label
    WC Fields Factory
    Checkout Field Editor for WooCommerce

    WooCommerce Paysafe Payment Gateway
    Store Toolkit for WooCommerce
    WooCommerce
    Wordfence Security
    WP LinkedIn Auto Publish

Would love to have this working if possible. Thank you!

    Hi @wallacelin,

Sorry to hear you are experiencing an issue.

The process of redirecting to our site and then back to yours is the expected behaviour. After you are redirected back you should see a blue message on the Connect tab saying something like: “The connection to your LinkedIn account has been successful. You now need to select what profile/companies you want to share with, we will take you there in …”

Did you see that message at all?

If you aren’t there’s possibly a plugin conflict perhaps. I recommend temporarily deactivating all other plugins and then trying the authentication process. It’s possible there could be a conflict or even like Wordfence blocking the ajax process to complete authentication.

    I hope that helps ??

    Message edited following updates:

Hello, I have disabled all plugins and attempt authentication. Now it can connect the account but I am still unable to share my posts to my LinkedIn profile. I understand you have to select the default profile again even if you only have one account connected?

Under the Sharing Options, I do not see or get to select the default profile at all. This section is just blank for me. Under the single post settings, I also do not see the default profile selection or a manual publish post to LinkedIn button. They seem to be hidden from the screen options.

This still occurs when I have disabled all other plugins. Cannot understand why. Can we resolve this so all available settings, options, and buttons for the plugin appear properly so we can actually share the posts?

Alright so I don’t want to keep re-editing the same response so here’s another one.

Pretty much right after I re-edited my reply above, the plugin is working. At first it was not letting me select the default profile at all. After re-clicking my account under “Profile Selection” it finally shows it under “Sharing Options”.

The plugin options on a single post page also appears to be working now. Although for some reason posts do not seem to be shared to LinkedIn automatically by default, even though the additional setting “By default do not share posts to LinkedIn” is OFF.

Based on my experiences, it may take some repeated attempts to have the account connected and the default profile selected before sharing posts is good to go. Nevertheless I got it working now.

All of this is done while other plugins are disabled.

    Hi @wallacelin,

Good to hear you have made progress. You need to make sure in the “Sharing Options” tab that you select the locations you want to share with by default. I hope that helps.

    Hi,

I’m also having this problem. I’ve linked it with my LinkedIn profile (which has my personal page and also the company page I manage), but the Profile Selection page only says: ‘Select the profile and companies you want to use with the plugin’ with no buttons or anything to select a profile.

Here are the diagnostics for my company website:

@madcan0 perhaps try re-connecting via the Connect tab. Did you see a success message and redirected to the Profile selection tab?

    Thanks,

Hi, now I need to re-connect the plugin to a different account, it does not work like the first time I tried it. It keeps failing to make any changes every time I tried to connect to LinkedIn, even after resetting the plugin settings.

It seems to me the step where a LinkedIn app is made via the website does not always succeed. Sometimes I get error 502. I have not been able to connect to the new account after several repeated attempts.

Edit: Most likely guess I have is MailOptin is having conflict with the app, but I can’t verify that right now.

@wallacelin, try disabling all other plugins and try connecting. I trust that you deleted the plugin settings from the help tab and the question “How do I clear all plugin settings?”
