• Discovered yesterday with WordPress 4.4 and Polylang 1.8.
Still present with WordPress 4.5.3 and Polylang 2.0.3.

    This affects post drafts.

    To reproduce:

    1. Create a draft in at least two different languages
    2. Link the drafts together
    3. Update one of the drafts (using the “Save Draft”; do not “Publish”)
    4. The draft’s associated translation(s) will disappear after the save

    Hi
I have just tested with WordPress 4.5.3 + Polylang 2.0.3. + Twenty Sixteen 1.3 and I didn’t reproduced your issue.
Have you test with all your plugins deactivated except Polylang?

After testing each activated plugin, the culprit is Enhanced Media Library (currently installed version: 2.3.1).

For unknown reasons, language and post_translation taxonomies were assigned to Media Library for each post type. I’ve disabled their association but the draft issue remains.
