The plugin has the correct ID for our store but for some reason the URL for the front-end review link displayed as the famous UK landmark ‘Nelson Column’

We have set the Google Place ID to ChIJhxDuiGNte0gRQ2AmyvcKZ0M

This is the URL of the plugin link to reviews on our website front end

    https://search.google.com/local/reviews?placeid=ChIJaxhvijEFdkgRPtwPZgzI4w8

How is the plugin using the ID ChIJaxhvijEFdkgRPtwPZgzI4w8?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

@tommydoguk That is a strange one!

    A few things to check:

    1. Someone may have just copied this Place ID from a demonstration or used “London” as the search term. Please ensure that the Place ID is found through the Place ID Finder, using your actual business name, not the address.
    2. In the Shortcode, there is no need to set any Place ID parameter unless it is specifically different to your current Place ID (or if you want to select just one from several in the catalogue).
    3. Once these checks/changes have been made, please clear both the plugin’s cache in Advanced and your page caching service (if in use). Sometimes updates will not come through immediately, so this will help to reveal the current data.

Once you’ve gone through these checks, please get back in touch.

OK, yes it’s the snippet. We’ve copied it from the plugin settings page and had presumed the ID was dynamically inserted from the Google settings:

    [reviews_rating place_id=”ChIJaxhvijEFdkgRPtwPZgzI4w8″ animate=”no” review_text=”no”]

    All sorted…. thanks

@tommydoguk I think I used the Nelson’s Column Place ID here to make it clear this needed to be set to one of your own choosing. The examples in the Shortcodes section are just there to offer starting points for your own website.

For you, I recommend leaving out the place_id parameter entirely.

Check out the Demonstration Website for more ideas.
