Link (url) within pages

  • HI AMP,

    Love the plugin, quick to setup and does the job.

    I’ve been searching the support pages but can’t find a similar issue.
    In many pages i have internal links/urls “a href” /linking_to another_page/

    Is there a setting I must apply so that these internal links will be altered to /linking_to another_page/amp
    It would be great if external links are left untouched.

    Or should I use the option ( Use This Content as AMP Content ) on each page and manually edit the URLs to /amp so a amp-visitor will stay on the amp version of the website?

  • The only way to do that is you recreate pages using the custom editor as you propose but frankly it may be more effort than it is worth.

    You may be able to develop a filter in functions page to do some type of string replacement on the AMP content but it is likely to be quite difficult to develop without a bit of work going into it.

    It’s not an easy feature to add as @frenchomatic said. I would recommend you to use Custom AMP editor but we are definitely going to add this in the future.

    You wouldn’t want it to be fully automated because sometimes you may want to link to a non-amp page from an amp page.

    Yes, this as an optional feature would make sense. It won’t be the right thing to make that default.
