    Hi there,

    why does next gen change the picture-link in the gallery slideshow after update?? Not a single link to a picture works anymore.

    In the morning I could directly navigate from a text link to a picture inside a slideshow.

    Then I did an update of Photocrati “You are using the following products: NextGen Gallery version 2.1.50, Photocrati NextGEN Plus version 1.3.24”

    Now nothing works because the pictures in the slideshow have a new url. I have to copy the new picture-url again into every single text-link (and I’ll have thousands someday).

    Please help!

    @maxbahura – I’m not certain I am understanding the issue you are describing, the NextGEN Basic Slideshow does not offer any “link” option and text links within images descriptions would not be affected by any plugin update.

    Thanks!

    I am having a related question: is it not possible to assign links to the individual images in the slideshow with nextgen pro?

    Yes webber 2012, exactly, i assigned links to individual pictures in the slideshow. The links come frome a blogpost and point into the slideshow. After upgrading the last many numbers in the link url changed but not the id. So i can’t trust this plugin?

    But where did you manage to set these url’s then? Through the settings of NextGen Pro or in some other way? I can’t even find where to assign links to the images which are in the slideshow. Maybe this is because I use a newer version of nextgen pro (not the latest though)?

    I think I’m not clear enough, I’m a german speaker. Thanks for your help!

    @photocrati I assigned links to text in different blog post. These links direct the user to individual pictures in the slideshow. Workflow: I copied the url from the picture, clicked the link button in the visual editor and pasted the url to the destination url window.
    Now the links doesn’t work anymore because the picture-Url changed automatically after update.

    @webber2012 I guess your problem doesn’t work with Next gen plus or pro, because you can’t assign links to pictures in a slideshow. I did it the opposite way. From text in blogpost to individual images with the wordpress link function.

    @maxbahura:

    ??

    Thanks for explaining, by the way: I understand German too (I live west from you, in die Niederl?nde wo wir viel verstehen ?? ).
    Hopefully photocrati has a solution for your issue.

    @photocrati:
    Bummer, no way to assign links to individual images in the slideshow?! Almost every commercial slideshow has this feature … please tell me this is planned for a nearby future release.

    @maxbahura – Where are the links you are using coming from? I’m not understanding what link you are using with the reference “I copied the url from the picture”, can you provide any additional details and/or context for that?

    Thanks!

    This is the picture url from within the slideshow:

    https://musilonline.at/archiv/erstausgabe-1930/nggallery/galleries/Erstausgabe-1930-%7C-Erster-Teil-%7C-Eine-Art-Einleitung#gallery/8fd4ee261c0b036245047403a4ecbb00/92

    I copied this url to a text link in a post. This worked. I was directed right to this picture in the slideshow.

    After the update, this last part of the url changed into a new number: 8fd4ee261c0b036245047403a4ecbb00

    Many links were broken because of this change.

    I now recopied the new urls and it works again. Until the next update? I have to link hundreds of images in the near future and I am wondering if it will happen again…

    (@maxbahura)

    These are all internal links by the way. I am not linking to another ones page. The links I am using come from the individual image in the slideshow…

    @photocrati: point taken although my messages where more questions about the functionality and one could regard maxbahura’s posts more support related in my opninon. ??
    Nevertheless I have submitted my question to support.

    @maxbahura: sorry I see you’re from Austria ??

    Anybody knows a broken link plug in? Something that repairs a link in case this will happen again??

    (@photocrati)

    @maxbahura – We are not aware of anything that work with NextGEN Gallery plugins in this fashion; but, again, this would be better addressed directly with our support team via your member’s area.

    Thanks!
