I am really new to this. We have a registration page with custom code to add users to our previous program (Hubspot). So currently, people who complete that form goes into the HubSpot database

You can replace your custom code with a MailPoet shortcode to display a subscription form. You can see details on creating a MailPoet subscription form here:

The subscribers’ details will be saved on your site’s database.

As for the existing subscribers on your Hubspot account, I recommend importing them with a CSV file.

Make sure to also review the checklist before importing your subscribers.

I think I will be okay with creating a newsletter. My concern is that customers that create an account is not added to a database.

If your customers sign up for your newsletters they should be added to your site’s database and should appear under WP Admin > MailPoet > Subscribers.
