link to one post from within another post

I would like to link to one of my posts from within the content of another post. I’ve tried using the permalink of the post I want to link to but that leads to a “page not found” error. I did try searching the documentation and forums but couldn’t find the answer. Does anyone know how to do this? Thank you in advance!
