The ID is required for recurring events, since recurring events share the same root URL. But they shouldn’t change, generally speaking; I’ll have to look into this. That sounds like something is happening that shouldn’t be, perhaps when editing events, causing the event IDs to change.

In my case I found out that the ID really change when doing some changes on existing events. I would love to get that problem fixed within one of the next updates.

BTW: Thanks a lot for that great support!

I’ll definitely look into that; those IDs shouldn’t change.

Starting with version 2.5, it will be possible to view events without the mc_id URL parameter. Doing so will always show the instance of that event closest to the current date – so prior to a recurring event starting, it will show the first instance; after it’s over, it’ll show the last, and in the middle, it will show whatever is nearest.

The ID shifting is tricky, and probably won’t be fixed just yet; however, if an ID is passed that doesn’t exist, the view will fall back to the closest date, as if no ID had been passed at all.
